Together, we take confident steps on our sustainability journey.
For over 50 years, Marluvas has protected those who build Brazil. This commitment begins before the footwear: in caring for the environment, in the people surrounding our operation, and in the way we conduct business. A commitment recognized by the gold seal of the Sustainable Origin certification, the program's highest level.
Sustainable Origin
Gold seal, the highest level of certification
Our Headquarters, in Dores de Campos (Minas Gerais), is certified with the gold seal of the Sustainable Origin program, the highest level of recognition from the program that audits ESG practices throughout the footwear supply chain. The certification is the result of an audited process of document analysis, evidence collection, interviews with employees, and facility verification.
Marluvas is one of the first companies in the professional footwear sector in Brazil to reach this level, and the first in the Campo das Vertentes region. The work underpinning this recognition began in December 2021, with the formation of the Sustainability Committee.
The Sustainable Origin Program is the only one in the world that certifies companies across the entire footwear chain. It is based on international references and aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). The certification is structured in levels, with the gold seal representing the highest degree of adherence to the required practices.
PILLAR 01 | ENVIRONMENTAL
Complete protection starts with environmental preservation
The protection of people is only complete when the environment in which we live is preserved. Therefore, we invest in green solutions, carry out environmental compensation, and rationalize the use of resources throughout the production chain.

How do we coordinate the ESG agenda within Marluvas?
Marluvas' ESG agenda is driven by a Sustainability Committee formed in December 2021, which involves leaders from different areas of the company. The cross-cutting nature of the program requires continuous engagement: operations, HR, compliance, marketing, product engineering, and environmental management work in an integrated manner.
This model ensures that ESG commitments are not restricted to one department, but are translated into concrete decisions across the entire chain, from raw material to customer service.
Aligned with international sustainability standards.
Our ESG practices follow recognized international benchmarks, ensuring that what we do at Marluvas can be compared, audited, and validated within global industry standards.
UN SDGs
Marluvas' initiatives contribute directly to the United Nations 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development Goals. Our full adherence mapping is available for download.
GRI (Global Reporting Initiative)
Our reports follow the international GRI standard, a global reference framework for sustainability performance disclosure. Adherence to the standard is part of the requirements of the Sustainable Origin program.
